Frontier Ambassador Programme
Becoming a Frontier Ambassador:
Here at frontier, we feel it is vital to offer as much information as we possibly can to our volunteers before they sign up. The Frontier Ambassadors Scheme is designed to allow returning volunteers and college/university students the chance to offer their advice and experience to prospective volunteers in return for discounts towards a Frontier project!
What it involves:
Becoming a Frontier Ambassador is all about inspiring the next generation of volunteers to get out there and make a difference. This could involve attending Frontier events such as school talks or briefing weekends, writing a review of your time on a project, referring a friend, or simply interacting with our online community to spread the word and answer queries. However you choose to get involved, your insights and experiences of life on a Frontier project will be hugely beneficial to anyone considering following in your footsteps.
We have two types of Ambassadors and you can find out which one suits you best below.
The Frontier Project Ambassadors scheme is your chance to stay involved with the project you contributed towards as a volunteer. Your first-hand experience means that you are better placed than anyone to give a sense of what a Frontier project really involves. By sharing your experience and engaging with the next generation of Frontier volunteers, you’ll be ensuring that your project continues to receive the valuable support it needs. At the same time, our reward scheme means you’ll be earning credits towards your next Frontier adventure!
The Frontier Campus Ambassadors Scheme is a re-vamp of our Student Rep program. It is a chance for University students to promote the organisation and our projects in return for credits redeemable on our projects. Campus Ambassadors are the point of contact for their peers and can help us organise and run presentations, attend careers and recruitment fairs and perhaps even organise a group of people to volunteer with you!
In return for your efforts, we’ll give you credits to put towards your next Frontier project. The tricky part will be deciding whether to return to your original volunteering destination, or to try something new on one of our many amazing placements.
Activities that contribute towards your credit balance include:
- Writing an online review of your experience as a volunteer
- Following our social media channels
- Writing a "volunteer story" about your project
- Putting up posters at your place of study
- Attending a school talk
- Attending a careers fair
- Attending a briefing weekend
- Referring a potential new volunteer to us
- Contributing to our social media channels
- Winning the "Ambassador of the Month" award
How to Apply to Become a Project Ambassador:
If you’ve completed a Frontier project before and would like to continue your involvement, you can register your interest and start your application to become a Frontier Ambassador by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Simply send us a message including your name, what project you participated in and when, and a few lines about why you feel you’d be suitable for the Ambassador role.
How to Apply to Become a Campus Ambassador:
If you are a University or College Student and haven’t been on a Frontier project but would like to, you can sign up as a Campus Ambassador! This is very similar to our Project Ambassador role, with one major difference; you haven’t yet been on a project!
Because of this, there are a few things you won’t be able to do. For example write a review or answer project specific questions on social media. But you’ll be able to gain plenty of credits elsewhere such as helping us organise presentations with interested students at your academic institution or arrange a group of people to volunteer with you and get them to apply!
If you have any questions or would like to know more about the roles please don’t hesitate to email the ambassador address or call 0207 613 2442 in the UK or +1 (0) 949 336 8178 in the USA.
